Substantially more aggressive and intense than cellulosic fires, hydrocarbon fires are typified by burning oil, fuel, chemicals, plastic etc. (i.e. hydrocarbons). As part of the comprehensive FirePro range of fire protection products, Hydrocarbon Slab has been developed to provide protection for steel pipes and vessels against the fierce heat conditions of hydrocarbon fires. Hydrocarbon Slab uniquely caters for the effect of differing operating and fail temperatures. Suitable for use in oil and chemical processing plants and all other areas of hydrocarbon fire hazard, Hydrocarbon Slab is, of course, equally suitable for cellulosic (A-Rated) fire protection of pipes and vessels. Hydrocarbon Slab is also approved for the protection of structure steelwork against hydrocarbon fire attack. Hydrocarbon Slab will provide a high degree of thermal and acoustic insulation. Hydrocarbon Slab is simple to install by dry fix methods and can easily be removed for inspection.
